Charlotte, NC -- Dryer vent cleaning promotes proper air-flow to improve the efficiency of your clothes dryer and prevent dryer fires. Dryer vent cleaning saves Americans hundreds of dollars annually on energy bills while eliminating a potential fire hazard.

Dave Lavalle, owner of Dryer Vent Wizard of Charlotte, explains why Dryer vent cleaning is so important. “As your dryer vent system becomes clogged with lint and other debris, drying time increases. If you notice your dryer taking more than one cycle to properly dry your laundry, lint build-up is most likely the cause. As drying time increases and your dryer continues to labor, the system becomes overheated. Hot air and moisture cannot escape through clogged vents. This increases energy consumption while eventually leading to a fire.”

Dave has noticed that many people think their dryer is old and worn out when drying time increases. Dave explains this common misconception to all his customers. “Don’t be fooled by the idea that the dryer is old and wearing out; this is rarely, if ever, the cause of this type of problem. When air flow is restricted the moist heat cannot escape the dryer drum; therefore, it would make sense that the clothes would not dry. In fact, on average six to ten of my customers' per month replace a perfectly good clothes dryer when a dryer vent cleaning would have do the job.”

Dryer Vent Wizard technicians are dryer exhaust specialists who provide an important service while educating customers on how their dryer vent system works. Dave Lavalle has seen a variety of dryer vent systems. “Some dryers are located on an outside wall and have a very short dryer duct; others might be located upstairs, in the middle of the home, in a closet or hallway. These dryers will have very long ducts with one or more turns and they might be vented through the roof.”

A professional who specializes in dryer vent cleaning will have the tools needed to access all areas of a dryer vent system. Dryer vent cleaning is recommended annually to prevent dryer fires and save energy. Dave Lavalle provides dryer vent cleaning, repair and installation for homes and businesses in Mecklenburg County, Charlotte, Huntersville, Matthews, Pineville, Cornelius, Lake Norman, South Park, Ballantyne and neighboring cities and communities. 28202, 28203, 28204, 28205, 28206, 28207, 28208, 28209, 28210, 28211, 28212, 28213, 28214, 28215, 28216, 28217, 28223, 28226, 28035, 28036, 28025, 28027, 28078, 28134, 28031, 28144, 28146, 28147.

Charlotte dryer vent cleaning

The pictures are before and after pictures from an old plastic dryer vent in Matthews, NC that broke within the wall and had been leaking lint in the wall.
Charlotte, NC – Dryer vent cleaning is the only cure when clothes dryers work inefficiently. It is not normal for an older dryer to take several cycles to properly dry clothes. Many people think this is the case when their dryers are not working as well as they did when they were new. They think that as long as the lint screen is free of lint, the inefficiency must be due to the age of the dryer.

Dave Lavalle of Dryer Vent Wizard wants consumers to be aware that age and wear is rarely the cause of longer drying times. This us usually a sign of lint build-up in the dryer vent system. Other warning signs include no lint on the lint screen after a cycle, excess lint on clothes, clothes come out with a moldy smell or are very hot.

Dryer vent cleaning provides efficient air flow to take heat and moisture out of your home. Clogged dryer vents cause the dryer to run hotter and longer, eventually causing severe damage to the dryer and leading to a fire hazard. In addition, poor venting results in excess moisture in the air, causing mold and mildew damage and mold related illness to sensitive residents. Gas dryers require proper ventilation to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety commission estimates that over 15,000 fires are associated with clothes dryers each year, accounting for an average of 10 deaths and 310 injuries along with millions in property damage. This number has dropped about 35% from the 24,000 annual fires in the late 1970’s. Dryer Vent Wizard is working to decrease these numbers by increasing public awareness of the dangers of clogged dryer vent systems.

Dryer Vent Wizard, Dry Clothes Safe Homes is a member of the National Fire Protection Association and the largest chain of Dryer vent cleaning, repair, replacement and alternation specialists in the U.S. with nearly 50 franchisees in major markets in the U.S. Visit http://www.dryerventwizard.com for more information.
