Area residents appreciate Dryer Vent Wizard

Area residents appreciate the Wizard for providing tips and information to avoid appliance disasters leading to serious property damage

Regular dryer vent cleaning service will prevent dryer fires and improve dryer performance. According to Dave Lavalle, owner of Dryer Vent Wizard, most dryer fires are the result of failure to clean dryer vents. “Lint build-up in the dryer duct restricts air flow and prevents heat and moisture from escaping,” said Lavalle. “If left unchecked the dryer can overheat and cause a fire.”

Dryer Vent Wizard is a national franchise company specializing in dryer vent services while educating their customers about dryer fire prevention and energy savings. Making clothes dryers safer and greener is the Wizard’s passion.

Dave’s customers are often amazed to learn how important dryer vent cleaning service is. Note from customer: “Dryer was amazing after venting was replaced - thank you! Also thanks for spending the time w/ me + discussing future plans - impacted amount of venting!"

Though dryer vents are their major focus, the Dryer Vent Wizard will also replace standard washing machine hoses with stainless steel hoses to prevent bursting. “Most people do not think about the constant pressure on their washing machine hoses,” said Lavalle. “If a water hose bursts the home could be completely flooded within minutes. Water valves to the washer should be turned off if residents are on vacation or away from home for an extended period of time.”

Dryer Vent Wizard is a member of the National Fire Protection Association and the largest chain of dryer vent cleaning, repair, replacement and alternation specialists in the U.S. with nearly 60 franchisees in major markets in the U.S.

Dryer Vent Cleaning Derry Wizard Provides Fire Prevention and Money Saving Tips

Charlotte, NC – Dryer vent cleaning promotes maximum dryer performance to prevent fires and save energy. Clothes dryers are among the most expensive appliances to operate. Since there is no such thing as an energy star clothes dryer, it is important to properly maintain the appliance to keep it operating efficiently.

Poorly vented dryers can increase energy costs by up to $300 per year. When lint buildup in dryer ducts is left unchecked, the dryer works overtime to get laundry dry. As drying time increases, so does energy usage. Eventually, the overworked dryer overheats and causes a fire.

Dave Lavalle, owner of Dryer Vent Wizard of Mecklenburg County advises all his customers that dryer vent cleaning is necessary appliance maintenance. “The most common sign that you need you dryer vent cleaned is when drying time increases,” said Lavalle. “Contrary to popular belief, this is not a sign of appliance wear. Even an old clothes dryer will work efficiently if it is getting proper air flow through clean dryer vents.”

Another cause of dryer fires and dryer inefficiency is inferior dryer vent systems. Proper dryer vent installation is critical to dryer safety and efficiency. “Dryer vents should be as short as possible and contain few bends and turns which can inhibit venting and cause lint to build up and clog the vent,” said Lavalle. “Smooth inside is also important. Dryer vent sections should be joined with foil tape instead of sheet metal screws which protrude to the inside, catching and trapping lint.”

Dryer Vent Wizard professionally inspects and cleans clothes dryers and dryer vent systems for homeowners and in commercially-owned buildings. Poorly maintained dryer vents are fire hazards and cause clothes dryers to cost substantially more to operate.
